Here at MSBC our vision is to be ‘A Church at the Centre of Community.’
The church has been at the centre of community in Bath since 1752, and at this site in Manvers Street since 1872. When the Open House Centre and Café at the Centre were opened in 1993, this gave the church an even great opportunity to be part of and serve the local community.
This vision is expressed in several areas in our life as a church, which you can read about below:
Community with God
As a church we believe that God creates us and calls us to relationship with Him – making this possible through Jesus’ life, death and resurrection; and through the gift of His Holy Spirit. Seeking to live in this reality as his beloved is at the centre of our lives, and our desire it that through the mission and ministry of the church, others may come to know Jesus for themselves.
Community with each other
As a church we believe that the journey of faith is not one we walk alone, but that God has given us the gift of one another as companions on that road. Our relationships with each other are a central part of who we are as a church, so we commit to creating spaces where these can be cherished and where we can grow together.
Community with others
As a church we believe that God has placed us in a wider community which he has called us to bless and serve. We commit to use the resources we have to be a means through which community can be built in our city, and throughout the world, building bridges and sharing God’s love with all.
